A MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT VANDEN HEUVEL

With well over a century of service to our community, Healdsburg Unified School district is well known for its academic excellence, collaborative culture and rich traditions. This district’s commitment to insuring that every student graduates from our schools well prepared for college, career and citizenship in the 21st century is clearly evident on every campus. Whether observing Kindergarten students support various charities in our community, fourth graders create a 19th century California mining-based society, or Junior Interns complete complex, real world projects in businesses around Sonoma County, you will find students engaged in complex and relevant learning.

This commitment to academic excellence is made possible by a professional, creative staff and a strong partnership with the exceptional Healdsburg Community. Every year, we partner with numerous parent groups, service organizations and businesses to create new and exciting learning opportunities for our students. The Healdsburg Education Foundation generously supports the district, bringing over $600,000 annually to fund innovative programs for students.

Each year our graduates leave us with bright futures and broad horizons ahead of them. Past years' graduating classes gained acceptance to highly competitive academic institutions, such as Stanford, UC Berkeley, MIT, and Columbia University.

I don’t believe that you will find a more student-centered, engaging and supportive school district in Sonoma County. Our commitment to rigor, relevance and community is the foundation for the excellent education that Healdsburg Unified School District offers its students. I encourage you to become an active partner with us in educating the children of Healdsburg.
