    About Our School

    About Us

The city of Healdsburg, 70 miles North of San Francisco, is nestled in the heart of Sonoma County wine country. Families choose Healdsburg for its vibrant mix of big city sophistication and small town warmth that stays true to its small town roots. Serving over 1400 students aged preschool – 12th grade, the Healdsburg Unified School District is made up of 5 schools housed on four campuses. As Healdsburg’s only public school system, HUSD is committed to the tenets of Rigor, Relevance and Community.

We offer an academically rigorous educational experience that incorporates various support systems to help students realize their educational and career goals. Our teachers offer innovative, personalized and relevant learning opportunities, based in real world problem solving and critical thinking. Finally, as a part of a community with an amazing commitment to its youth, we constantly strive to break down the boundaries of the traditional school and partner with our community in the education of our students.

HUSD is a community funded school district with an annual budget of $24 million. Our revenues are generated strictly from local property taxes and not from state revenues like most districts in California. We also partner with the Healdsburg Education Foundation (HEF) to provide for deeper, more innovative educational opportunities for our students.

Through the commitment of our amazing staff and the awesome support of our community, the Healdsburg Unified School District is dedicated to preparing all of our students to thrive in 21st century.
